Data deletion instructions.

How to delete your uploaded videos and data from SocialSnap — two options, with the timeline for each.

Delete your data from SocialSnap

SocialSnap respects your privacy and gives you full control over your data. SocialSnap is upload-based — your data is the videos you uploaded and their gallery settings. To delete it, choose one of the two options below — the tab you pick is the only one you need to follow.

Delete from the SocialSnap app

The easiest way to delete your data is through the SocialSnap app in your Shopify admin:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin.
  2. Go to Apps → SocialSnap.
  3. Navigate to Settings.
  4. Click Delete all uploaded videos & data (or uninstall the app).
  5. Confirm the deletion.

This will immediately delete:

  • All videos you uploaded
  • Generated thumbnails and stored copies of those videos
  • Captions and product tags on your videos
  • Gallery and feed configurations
Timeline: Immediate. The database delete happens synchronously when you click Confirm; stored video files are purged shortly after.

Email request

You can request data deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to hello@verdash.io.
  2. Use subject line: "Data Deletion Request - SocialSnap".
  3. Include the following information:
    • Your Shopify store URL
    • The email address associated with your account
Timeline: Within 48 hours. We'll process your request and delete all associated data within 48 hours. You'll receive a confirmation email once complete.

What data is deleted?

When you request data deletion, we remove the following:

Data type Description Deletion timeline
Uploaded videos The video files you uploaded Immediate
Thumbnails & stored copies Generated thumbnails and stored video files Within 48 hours
Captions Captions you added to your videos Within 48 hours
Feed settings Layout preferences, gallery configurations Within 48 hours
Product tags Product associations on your videos Within 48 hours

Data retention after deletion

After deletion:

  • All personal data is permanently removed from our systems
  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (not personally identifiable) may be retained for service improvement
  • Backup systems are purged within 30 days

Check deletion status

If you requested deletion by email, we'll send a confirmation once your data has been removed. You can reply to that email any time to check on the status.
