What is SocialSnap?

SocialSnap is an upload-based shoppable-video app for Shopify. You upload your own video files — exported Reels, TikToks, creator collabs, or customer clips — organize them into galleries, tag the products inside each video, and display them on your store in beautiful layouts: grids, sliders, or Stories-style circles.

You build social proof, increase engagement, and turn video into a shoppable storefront experience. There's no account to connect — you bring the content.

Do I need coding knowledge to use SocialSnap?

No. SocialSnap uses Shopify's Theme App Extensions, so you can add and customize the feed widget directly in your theme editor with simple drag-and-drop and visual controls.

Is SocialSnap compatible with all Shopify themes?

Yes — SocialSnap is compatible with all Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes. That covers all themes in the Shopify Theme Store and most custom themes built after 2021.

If you have an older vintage theme, contact us and we can help with manual integration.

What videos can I upload?

Any video file you have the rights to use. Upload your own exported Reels, TikToks, creator collabs, or customer UGC clips as MP4 files.

For someone else's content — a creator's clip or a customer's video — get their permission before publishing it to your storefront. See our installation guide for how to upload and organize your videos.

Do I need to connect a social account?

No. SocialSnap is upload-based — there's nothing to connect and no login to any social platform. You supply the videos, so you're never blocked waiting on a platform connection or API approval.

Can I upload customer or creator videos?

Yes — as long as you have permission. UGC and creator collabs are some of the best content for a shoppable feed. Just make sure you have the rights to publish someone else's video on your store before you upload it.

What video formats are supported?

Upload MP4 files encoded with H.264 for the widest browser support and fastest storefront loading.

Vertical (9:16) clips look best in the feed and Stories-style layouts. Keep individual files reasonably sized so they load fast on mobile.

Does SocialSnap support Reels-style and Stories-style layouts?

Yes. Your uploaded videos display with a play button and play inline when clicked — perfect for vertical Reels-style and TikTok-style clips.

For a Stories aesthetic, use the Circle layout, which shows your videos as Stories-style circular tiles. You also get feed (slider) and grid layouts.

What layouts are available?

SocialSnap offers three layout options:

  • Grid: classic grid layout with customizable columns (2–8)
  • Slider: horizontal carousel that users can scroll through
  • Circle: Stories-style circular tiles with gradient borders

How do I keep my videos fresh?

You're in full control of what shows on your store. Upload new clips anytime from the dashboard, then reorder, replace, or remove videos in any gallery whenever you like.

Because SocialSnap is upload-based, there's no syncing to wait on — changes you make in the dashboard go live the next time the storefront loads.

What is product tagging?

Product tagging (available on Pro and Unlimited plans) lets you link your uploaded videos to products in your Shopify store. When customers tap a video, they can see and purchase the tagged products directly from the player.

This turns your video galleries into a shoppable storefront and drives conversions.

Can I create multiple feeds?

Yes. The number of feeds you can create depends on your plan:

  • Free: 1 feed
  • Starter: 3 feeds
  • Pro: 10 feeds
  • Unlimited: unlimited feeds

Multiple feeds let you show different videos on different pages — e.g. a curated gallery on your homepage and a product-specific gallery on product pages.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — SocialSnap has a free plan that includes:

  • 1 shoppable gallery
  • 12 videos per gallery
  • Grid layout
  • Product tagging on uploaded videos

No credit card is required to get started. Upgrade anytime to access more features.

How does billing work?

All billing is handled through Shopify's billing system, which means:

  • Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice
  • No need to enter credit card details separately
  • Secure payment processing by Shopify

Subscriptions are billed monthly with no long-term commitments.

Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your Shopify admin.

  • Upgrade: new features available immediately, prorated billing
  • Downgrade: takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle
  • Cancel: reverts to the Free plan at the end of your billing cycle

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled per Shopify's app refund policy. If you're not satisfied with SocialSnap, contact us within 7 days of purchase and we'll work with you to resolve any issues or process a refund.

Does SocialSnap slow down my store?

No. SocialSnap is optimized for performance:

  • Media is cached and served from fast CDN servers
  • Images are lazy-loaded (only load when visible)
  • Minimal JavaScript footprint
  • No external tracking scripts

Your store's speed score should not be significantly affected by SocialSnap.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

If you uninstall SocialSnap:

  • The feed widget is automatically removed from your theme
  • Your uploaded videos and galleries are deleted
  • Your data is deleted within 30 days (per our privacy policy)
  • Any paid subscription is cancelled

You can reinstall anytime and re-upload your videos.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Security is a top priority:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/SSL
  • Uploaded videos are stored on encrypted cloud storage
  • There are no social passwords or access tokens to store — there's no account connection
  • We comply with GDPR and CCPA regulations
  • Data is stored on secure, isolated servers

The feed widget isn't showing on my store. Help!

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure you've uploaded at least one video to a gallery in the SocialSnap app
  2. Check that the app embed is enabled: Themes → Customize → App embeds → Enable SocialSnap
  3. Verify you've added the SocialSnap section to your page
  4. Confirm the correct gallery is selected in the widget settings
  5. Clear your browser cache and try again
